The Workshop was to provide an academic exchange and networkingplatform to the participants for knowledge sharing and discussio n on the latestdevelopments in thin films related technologies\, so as to promote future collaboration.\n\nThe workshop was chaired by Prof. Sam Zha ng\, President ofTFS and Director of the Centre for Advanced Thin Film Mat erials and Devices\,Southwest University\, China . Participants from Unite d Kingdom\, Japan\, China\,Singapore and Taiwan region presented their rec ent thin films relatedinterdisciplinary researches and new technology deve lopments.
